General Info for all Folgefonna Jobs: Availability: Although some of the jobs have already been taken, we are always accepting applications. Jobs may become available at any time, in which case we will choose the most qualified applicant available. Requirements: You must speak English You must be a very responsible individual, adapt to unexpected changes and have positive attitude. You must be able to work well/ live well with others and clean up after yourself. You must have a passion for your work and share our vision to create the ideal summer ski/snowboard camp. You must be prepared and willing to work in the rain, wind and snow Work Dates: June 16- July 11th Regardless of your job, you MUST arrive at the camp by 8pm on Wednesday June 16th. (6 days before the first camp starts). This is when we will have our opening employee meeting. EVERYONE MUST ATTEND. NO EXCUSES. You must stay until the Sunday July 11th. Workers who leave early have caused a lot of problems in the past. The few workers that remain have to clean up the mess themselves. If you ditch out on cleanup, you will automatically not be welcome back for future summers. Drivers Wanted! If you have a car/truck that you are willing to use, it will increase your chance of being hired. The more people you can fit, the better. There is a 15 minute drive from the camp to the glacier and a 10 minute drive to the town. You may need to drive this road every day. The roads have lots of turns, are narrow and have holes, so be prepared! You will be reimbursed for fuel. Benefits: HOUSING: Free housing provided. You will be given a foam bed and share a common sleeping area with 10 or more people. You may live with campers, or other workers depending on the number of campers and situation that week. You may also have to switch houses midway through the camp. *Please Note!* this job is designed for people who love snowboarding/skiing and are willing to make sacrifices to be able to ride in the summer. Please do not apply if you expect to live in luxury! FREE LIFT PASS: Free lift pass every day, plus night sessions, and access to our professionally built terrain park FOOD: Some food will be provided by the camp, but you will need to buy your own food as well. Some workers have lived on camp food alone, but get tired of the same meals by the end of the camp. So be prepared and budget some money for your own food too. OTHER BENEFITS: Medical/accident coverage provided during the camp Free products from our sponsors. This will depend on availability. If you are having trouble getting a job, the best thing to do is sign up for camp, get to know some of the workers personally, express your interest in working, and apply again next year.
